Ypsilanti Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

Our recent Downtown Fall cleanup.

The Ypsilanti Area Jaycees offer many volunteer and community service opportunities each year. We're an organization focused on developing leaders through community service and other programming we offer our members.

Many members in our organization have joined after they found that we were helping an organization they care about, or saw our group as a way to build a project that would help benefit an organization they care about.

Some examples of projects we've run to help the community or other organizations are listed below:

  • Easter Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Drop - large community event which brings 500+ children from the community and their families out for a morning of fun
  • Relay for Life Walk benefiting the American Cancer Society
  • Accessible Playground Build - Help building a playground at Ford Heritage Park
  • Ypsi Pride Day - Help beautifying our community and parks
  • Life-sized Chutes and Ladders in Depot Town - proceeds went to benefit SOS Community Services
  • Precious Pet Contest - benefiting Huron Valley Humane Society
  • Protect And Serve Fundraiser for the Ypsilanti Police Department
  • Ypsilanti Fourth of July Parade - We organized and ran this parade last year for Ypsilanti residents to come out and enjoy
  • Ypsilanti Heritage Festival Parade - Another parade we organize and run for our community
  • Thanksgiving Baskets Project - Project to get food for a week, and thanksgiving dinner to deserving families during the holiday season
  • Senior Dinner - a meal we work & cook to provide for area seniors during the holidays

We're a member run organization so whether you're looking for opportunities to volunteer or looking for an organization that can help you to make a difference for an organization you care about.
